Love Never Fails...

Last week at our general meeting, we learned all about LOVE!

But not just Love, four different kinds, how exactly they work in our lives, and how God uses them in reference to us.

The first love, is Storge, known better as affection. Its a familial love, the love you have for people you are familiar with, such as your family.
Then we learned about Philia, a friendship love. It's a deeper love you have for your friends.
Eros, is a romantic love. THe sacrificial love you have for your husband or wife.
The Agape, the love that is God's love. We want to give love to God, and the easiest way for us to do this is to take care of others with Charity.

After leaning about the different ways we can love and be loved we read the bible passage from Corinthians 13:1-8.

1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues
but do not have love, I am a resounding
gong or a clashing cymbal.
2 And if I have the gift of prophecy and
comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge;
if I have all faith so as to move mountains
but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 If I give away everything I own, and if I
hand my body over so that I may boast but
do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not
jealous,is not pompous, it is not inflated,
5 it is not rude, it does not seek its own
interests,it is not quick-tempered, it does
not brood over injury,
6 it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but
rejoices with the truth.
7 It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails.

Then in our groups we discussed how we see each love owrking our lives, and how we can Christ to others through each love.

All in all it was a fun meeting with games, decorations and lots of learning and love!
